Illinois FBLA is looking for one or two talented individuals to act as pre-show emcees at the first and maybe second general sessions of the SLC.   Envision this person as a cross between an emcee on the red carpet before the Academy Awards and someone who leads the cheer section of your home game sporting events. The student should have the charisma of on-air talent (on-camera) that can have great conversation, be appropriate, friendly, and occasionally ad-lib.

Skills/Requirements

• ​adviser approval (media director will email adviser for finalists)
• must be available for the rehearsal at 7:30 pm at the Crowne Plaza on Thursday, April 4
• very enthusiastic
• personable and conversational with audience members
• hold short conversations/interviews and ask impromptu follow-up questions
• memorize script and also adlib
• meet the highest standards of the FBLA dress code (ex: suit jacket for guys)
• smile like a movie star
• total on-air time for the first pre-show is about 5-10 minutes total, with breaks in between
• confidence to be on live with over 4,000 in person and online viewers
• audition by sending a video (less than one minute) of your on-camera red-carpet interview skills
